Democrats Completely Miss The Boat on North Korea Mess

The left has been incorrigibly and incorrectly celebrating the dissolution of the North Korea – U.S. summit, but do they even realize what is actually going on?

Spoiler alert:  They don’t.

The left has been cheering about the fact that Kim Jong Un had originally dissed The Donald, essentially pulling “too slow” high five maneuver at the final hour before the historic meeting was supposed to take place.  Democrats and their tribalist cabal of millennials were practically hugging one another at the idea of another “failure” by President Trump.

President Donald J. Trump reacted Friday to the ongoing commentary from Democrats critical of his decision to cancel the meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

“Democrats are so obviously rooting against us in our negotiations with North Korea,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Just like they are coming to the defense of MS 13 thugs, saying that they are individuals & must be nurtured, or asking to end your big Tax Cuts & raise your taxes instead.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi described Kim Jong-un as “the big winner” out of the deal, describing Trump’s letter canceling the meeting as “chummy” and “palsy-walsy.”

“Dems have lost touch!” Trump added.

What they don’t understand is the art of the deal.

Just a day later, Kim was crawling back to the negotiating table, having incurred the wrath of the most powerful man on the planet.

A top North Korean official had issued a statement Thursday evening expressing the regime’s “willingness” to sit down for a summit with the U.S.

“We express our willingness to sit down face-to-face with the U.S. and resolve issues anytime and in any format,” North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan said, according to Yonhap News outlet, which cited the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA.)

The official also said that Trump’s move to call off the summit highlighted the tensions between the two countries, further emphasizing the need for a meeting. The official added that Kim had been preparing for the summit.

The President responded in kind.

“Very good news to receive the warm and productive statement from North Korea. We will soon see where it will lead, hopefully to long and enduring prosperity and peace. Only time (and talent) will tell!” Trump tweeted on Friday morning.

Now it will just be a matter of waiting to see if the North Koreans continue on this path to peace, or if they get another wild hair lodged somewhere dark and dank.
