Terrorism has been a plague on our modern society for decades, maybe centuries, and its ever-evolving tactics seem to come and go like waves of evil on a beach of anger.

When hijackers took the controls of 4 planes on September 11th, 2001, very few had ever imagined that an attack of that scale and scope could have ever occurred on American soil.  For many, terrorism was a much simpler proposition involving lone wolf assaults with body counts in the dozens, not in the thousands.

In the aftermath of those awful attacks, the United States and her allies began working to prevent a similar tragedy from ever occurring again, once again banishing terror to the realm of quick and simple attacks.  Now, in the modern era, ISIS and similar organizations have been steadily exploiting globalist culture to position their soldiers all over the planet, with a particular focus on Europe due to the continent’s foolishly relaxed border policies in the wake of the Syrian refugee crisis.  Now, in place of commercial airliners, terrorists have been instructed by their cowardly leaders to commandeer cars and trucks in their jihad.

Now, news out of the D.C. metro area has many concerned that this tactic has come to the U.S.

“Terrorism is not being ruled out in a gruesome attack on two Washington D.C. police officers and a third victim that mirrored similar ISIS-inspired massacres by jihadists in Europe, where large vehicles are being utilized as the weapons of choice.

“The officers were patrolling on bicycles in the neighborhood of Adams Morgan when the driver of a pickup truck rammed them at a high rate of speed, dragging one victim up to 30 feet before crashing into a garbage truck, according to reports.

“Two suspects were arrested at the scene, and an unregistered firearm was confiscated, according to ABC 7. Unconfirmed reports are that the weapon may have been an AK-47.”

As of this publication, both officers are still hospitalized, one in “serious” condition; the other in “critical” condition.

The mainstream media has routinely ignored possible terror attacks such as this due to a lingering positional cowardice installed by the Obama administration.  The former President was fond of downplaying the threat of radical Islamic terrorists during his lame duck term, often refusing to even use the phrase “radical Islam” for fear of insulting the Muslim faith.

As terror continues to spread it’s tenacious tentacles throughout the world, attacks such as this in the nation’s capital will continue to pose a threat to the American way of life.  Luckily for Americans, the current tenants in the White House are not nearly as capitulatory toward jihadists as Barack Obama proved to be.
