As we roll into this national election it is more important than ever to understand the liberal mind as it has become more significant than ever given our present White House occupant, a disciple of Communist icon Saul Alinsky, to say nothing of what could follow: a woman who not only knew Alinsky, but worked for him for two years and sealed her Welsley required baccalaureate thesis on Saul, knowing her thoughts on his ideas would be very unpopular and cast serious suspicion on her present ideas and plans.
We ask, “If liberal ideas are so good why do their authors seal them from public view?” Or, “Is liberalism only a tool for the acquisition of power?” We believe the latter is the case and here examine a few liberal concepts:
In the classic conflict situation you are walking down a street wearing a new jacket and shoes. You are approached by two young men who pull knives and threaten to cut you if you don’t give them your jacket and shoes.
If you are liberal you gladly give them your clothing as they apparently need it, and you deeply want everyone to like you so you comply. If you are conservative you pull out your gun and shoot them. Which of these actions promotes bad behavior and which reduces it?
Hate the Rich
A number of men have become extremely wealthy in America. If you are liberal you will want to tax their wealth away because you feel we should all have the same income whether we have greater skills and value to the economy or not.
In every case you will find these were driven men who worked very long hours, risked substantial sums of money, usually borrowed, often failed several times, but hung in. Is it possible that men would continue to behave this way if they knew the reward would be taken from them in taxes? Is this one of the reasons socialism always fails. It has never succeeded. Not one time!
Print More Money
“If we need more money, print it!” has been the cry of the disciples of John Maynard Keynes, the father of Keynesian Economics, but even John Maynard knew this practice had limits. His modern day disciples forget that Dr. Keynes declared we could only infuse an economy with baseless money one time. If it did not work we would have to do something else, like a free market! Let the forces of the market sort out the problems: It works every time and let the taxes be “…one in five,” From Genesis 47:26 or “The Kings Fifth” from Medieval Europe in the time it was a laboratory of economics for all to see and learn from.
However, Mr. Obama has cranked up the printing press seven times and the economy remains flat! Our spreadsheet model suggests there is no way to pay off our national debt as we cannot find a rate that will work unless we expand by 10% per year for 60 years. That has never happened and thus predicts collapse. When? We do not know. There is a limit to such math analysis which is ignorant of time.
In the “Corn Belt” we were familiar with farmers “sealing” their crops at “the elevator” where all the corn was gathered, weighed and stored to fulfill future deliver contracts at the Chicago Board of Trade. When farmer Brown had his “chit” from the elevator he could deposit it at the local bank and draw on it. The banker followed the daily changes in the price per bushel, applied a 20% cushion, and lent on that basis. The money had backing; it meant something.
When we corn belt kids heard our professors, who were largely eastern imports, ranting about “printing more money” we knew they were wrong, but now they are running the country and we still know they are wrong. This has to end in disaster.
The Obama Doctrine
In June of 2015 President Obama issued a re-affirmation of the policy regarding American hostages it includes: (a) achieving the “safe and rapid recovery of U.S. nationals taken hostage outside the United States;” (b) our government will strive to “counter and diminish the global threat of hostage taking;” (c) that we will use all resources to get our hostages back; (d) that we will “make no concessions to individuals or groups holding U.S. nationals abroad” and; (e) that we will deny hostage-takers the “benefits of ransom, prisoner-releases, policy changes or other acts of concession.” But, we have reason to believe this was violated in the return of the 17 US Navy crewmen captured by Iran.
It is rumored that Mr. Obama released $ 1.5 billion to get our 17 captured US Navy crewmen back. He thus put an $88 million price on the head of every American serving or traveling in the Middle East. This is the Obama Doctrine.
In post WWII America you could go to a state university, pay $50 and if a lab science student another $50 in lab fees, to register per semester if you graduated in the top half of your high school class. You could bunk in with several other guys for $20 a month, pool money for food you would cook, get a part-time job in a kitchen or super market and after four years come out with a degree, a job, no debt save what you may borrow to move up to real life, but you took a degree in something solid, no “Studies” suffixes and your school had a placement office with lists of openings.
In those days you were taught by men and women who were in classrooms 30 hours a week, spent another ten hours working with their students individually, but today you are taught by Graduate Students as the “Full Professor” who is listed as teaching your course, only works nine hours per week with ten or 12 grad students in seminars discussing “parameters,” “concepts” and esoteric “theories” as he, or she, expound their hypothetical ideas from the papers they are writing for “peer reviewed” journals published in the basements and garages of other scoundrels. Academia has become corrupt and it was done with Federal money.
Such is the liberal mind.
