Talk about a misreading of the national political climate.
Cory Booker, who last week performed one of the most egregious, self-aggrandizing, faux martyrdom acts in the history of the democratic party, now believes that he is ready to take on Donald Trump in 2020…at least according to actions being taken in Iowa this week.
“The New Jersey Democrat placed four aides on the ground in the influential first caucus state to help elect local Democratic candidates,” the New York post reported Monday.
Those staffers aren’t just there to help Iowa Democrats compete for state-level offices; they’re there to get a lay of the land. Working on campaigns for Iowa’s state legislature will help potential Booker 2020 staff understand the Iowa political landscape, get a feel for local preferences, and establish bonds with in-state Democratic organizations — relationships that will be key to winning the 2020 Iowa Caucuses.
Booker is also slated to headline the Iowa Democrats’ fall gala in October, the first official event on the schedule for prospective 2020 candidates.
Booker famously attempted to shame Brett Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court confirmation last week by releasing a number of “confidential” emails under the pretense that he may be removed fro the Senate on account of his “insubordination”.
Unfortunately for Booker, mere hours after the self-proclaimed “Spartacus” maneuver, it was revealed that there was never any danger in the release of the emails as they had been approved for public release in the wee hours of the morning beforehand.
Booker was simply showboating, and Americans know that now. Whatever he thinks he’s doing in Iowa will simply be a waste of democratic taxpayer money.
