Earlier today conservative Congressman Steve King (R-IA) announced that he would be endorsing Judge Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate primary.
It must have come as welcome news for Judge Moore who was preparing to debate his primary opponent, incumbent Senator Luther Strange (R-AL) Thursday evening.
Here’s what King had to say about Judge Moore:
Judge Roy Moore has shown time and time again that he will stand strong against the prevailing winds to champion causes that are important to conservatives..
Whether it’s defending the Ten Commandments, preserving the sanctity of traditional marriage, or fighting against entrenched political corruption in Montgomery and Washington, Roy Moore can be counted on to fight to advance our shared conservative values. There is no stronger, more principled Constitutional Christian conservative than Judge Moore. I endorse Roy Moore for the United States Senate, and I look forward to working with him to advance pro-life and pro-second amendment causes.
Judge Moore was quite pleased to earn the endorsement and quickly thanked Rep. King for his help.
“Congressman King has been a tireless advocate for the constitution and for securing our borders. I am honored to have his support and look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with him in Washington to defend our liberties and protect our nation.”
King’s recommendation is the latest of a string of important endorsements for Moore who has been steadily collecting endorsements from important conservatives from across the country.
In recent weeks he’s announced the support from important conservatives like; Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Chuck Norris, Mark Levin, Sebastian Gorka, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), and former Senator Tom Coburn (R-KS) among many, many others.
Judge Moore continues to lead in all of the polls of the primary and of the general election, however, the Washington, D.C. establishment continues to fight hard to get Senator Strange elected (he was appointed after Jeff Sessions became Attorney General). Strange is a creature of the D.C. establishment and he would continue to ensure that the Swamp would hold sway in D.C.
