Hatchet-Wielding Criminal vs. Concealed Carrying Citizen… Guess Who Won?

In another display of heroism and the need for citizens to be armed and use their Second Amendment rights, a 60-year-old concealed carrying man stopped an hatchet-wielding man at a 7-Eleven outside of Seattle, Washington.

A customer at a 7-Eleven store outside Seattle shot and killed a masked man who attacked a clerk with an ax early Sunday.

Investigators said the shooting happened at the store in White Center at approximately 5:45 a.m. local time. Witnesses said the man entered the store and swung a hatchet toward the customer before turning his attention to the clerk.

As the assailant attacked, the customer pulled out a pistol and fired, hitting the suspect. The clerk suffered minor injuries to his stomach and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The clerk, 58-year-old Kuldeep Singh, knew the man that saved his life. He was a regular customer of his store who was simply having a cup of coffee with the attack began.

The masked intruder, who was in his 40s, took several swings at Singh and another customer and sliced him two to three times. That’s when the armed customer, who was not named, pulled out his pistol and shot the attacker dead.

Singh was thankful for his customer friend, believing that if the man had not acted, he would be dead. Police are also hailing the unidentified Good Samaritan as a hero.

“Had this customer not shot, who knows what would’ve happened,” King County Sheriff’s Sgt Cindi West told KIRO 7.

“We might have a dead clerk right now and instead we have a dead bad guy,” West added. “We do not see any wrongdoing on the part of the customer. In fact, he probably saved lives.”

KIRO has identified the dead man as 43-year-old Steven Blacktongue.

According to reports, the Good Samaritan was too badly shaken after the incident to speak.

No one wants to have to use their gun. They carry for situations like this, but everyone that I’ve ever known that carries has always carried with the hope of never having to use their weapon.

This is yet another example of why guns should not be restricted. If criminals can’t get their hands on a gun, they will use an axe. Background checks do not stop criminals. They only impede law-abiding citizens. Thank God this 60-year-old man was armed and willing to love his fellow man enough to stop a would be murderer. Well done Sir!
