According to Merriam-Webster, some of the definitions of abortion include:
“The termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus”
“Induced expulsion of a human fetus”
According to Medical Dictionary – The Free Dictionary, the definition of abortion is:
“Termination of pregnancy before the fetus is viable. In the medical sense, this term and the term miscarriage both refer to the termination of pregnancy before the fetus is capable of survival outside the uterus. The term abortion is more commonly used as a synonym for induced abortion, the deliberate interruption of pregnancy, as opposed to miscarriage, which connotes a spontaneous or natural loss of the fetus. Because of this distinction made by the average layperson, care should be exercised in the use of the word abortion when speaking of a spontaneous loss of the fetus.”
For the purposes of this post, the term ‘abortion’ used from this point on, refers to induced abortion or the intentional termination of a human fetus. Be it known that a human fetus is just medical distinction used for an unborn human child. Regardless of the stage of development or viability, once a fetus has been surgically removed or through the birthing process, it is generally referred to as a baby, newborn, infant but it is no longer referred to as a fetus. For example, the premature birth of a child versus a full-term pregnancy. At the same stage of development, they are both referred to as a fetus. Yet since one is born at an earlier stage, either naturally or surgically, it suddenly is a baby, a child, an infant, a human, while the other life still developing inside, yet further along in development is just a fetus according to so many in the medical field and to liberals.
Biblically, life begins at conception and the Bible makes no distinction between a fetus and a baby. In Luke 1:41, we read that when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby in Elizabeth’s womb ‘leaped.’ Additionally, Scripture uses the term ‘child’ and not fetus and warns about anyone causing the death of an unborn child – Exodus 21:22.
During Barack Obama’s eight years of destroying everything decent about America, he has vigorously supported abortion. According to one source:
“The legacy of President Obama will go down in history as the president who abdicated his responsibilities when it came to the protection of the most innocent citizens of this great nation.”
“One of Obama’s first acts as president was to repeal the Mexico City Policy, which prohibited tax dollars from going to international organizations that do abortions. A few months later he signed an executive order that allowed tax dollars to fund unsuccessful embryonic stem cell research.”
“Less than a month after taking office, President Obama began the process to roll back conscience protections that his predecessor had put in place so that healthcare professionals would not be forced to perform abortions if they were opposed to doing them.”
Obama’s legacy doesn’t stop there and you read more about his pro-abortion policies here.
According to Anna Paprocki, Legal Counsel for Americans United for Life, Donald Trump could easily take some quick action that would help saves many unborn lives. Paprocki told OneNewsNow one way Trump could begin rolling back Obama’s bloody abortion policies:
“Indiana and Arizona tried these efforts, but the Obama administration issued an interpretation of the Medicaid statute, through the Center for Medicaid Services, saying you can’t exclude abortion providers from your state Medicaid program.”
If the Trump administration released the Obama administration’s interpretation of the Medicaid statute, it would allow Indiana, Arizona and other states to make sure that none of the Medicaid funding received by Planned Parenthood is used for abortions.
Secondly, Paprocki pointed out that the Trump administration could easily reverse the Title X provisions that send family planning dollars to anyone who provides abortions.
A third way to protect thousands of unborn lives would be the GOP controlled Congress to change the funds that would normally go to Planned Parenthood and make those funds go to local health providers that supply for the medical needs of women except abortions.
The main argument used by pro-abortion advocates like Obama is that most of the funding that goes to Planned Parenthood is used for women’s health needs and not abortions. If that money was directed to just the health needs of women and not abortions, it would save thousands of unborn lives every year.
Trump has claimed to be pro-life, even though he has waffled on the subject over the years. In his campaign, he claimed to be pro-life and now he has the chance to prove it.
