Circa is reporting on a shocking new story that proves the Obama administration lied and spied on the American people for almost the entirety of their administration.
In 2011 the Obama administration agreed to a new set of standards after the NSA had been found to be routinely violating the rights of Americans in their spy practices. In the wake of these violations the government drew up a new set of guidelines to be followed, and Obama and his administration leaders all promised to make sure that their agencies followed the new protocols. Sadly, 5 years later and just a few weeks before the election of President Trump, the Obama administration admitted to a FISA court that it had never actually done what they said they would do.
No, instead the Obama administration “routinely” violated the 4th Amendment rights of thousands of American citizens.
The National Security Agency under former President Barack Obama routinely violated American privacy protections while scouring through overseas intercepts and failed to disclose the extent of the problems until the final days before Donald Trump was elected president last fall, according to once top-secret documents that chronicle some of the most serious constitutional abuses to date by the U.S. intelligence community.
More than 5 percent, or one out of every 20 searches seeking upstream Internet data on Americans inside the NSA’s so-called Section 702 database violated the safeguards Obama and his intelligence chiefs vowed to follow in 2011, according to one classified internal report reviewed by Circa.
The Obama administration self-disclosed the problems at a closed-door hearing Oct. 26 before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that set off alarm. Trump was elected less than two weeks later.
The FISA court lambasted the administration for what they’d done, but no further punitive action was taken because there was no one to punish. The entire administration had been lying and breaking the law, but they’re the people we rely on to bring justice to the lawbreakers. There is just no mechanism to hold them accountable, even when they violate the Constitutional rights of thousands (and perhaps millions) of Americans.
The ACLU was shocked and dismayed that their precious leader could have allowed such a heinous miscarriage of justice:
“I think what this emphasizes is the shocking lack of oversight of these programs,” said Neema Singh Guliani, the ACLU’s legislative counsel in Washington.
“You have these problems going on for years that only come to the attention of the court late in the game and then it takes additional years to change its practices.
“I think it does call into question all those defenses that we kept hearing, that we always have a robust oversight structure and we have culture of adherence to privacy standards,” she added. “And the headline now is they actually haven’t been in compliance for years and the FISA court itself says in its opinion is that the NSA suffers from a culture of a lack of candor.”
This just discovered Obama scandal ties in neatly with the administration’s decision to routinely unmask their political opponents which is also a violation of the laws that the Obama team seems to care so little about.
Apparently, in the minds of the Obama administration officials, laws are for little people who don’t work for Barack Obama. And when laws make life more complicated for Obama lackeys they can simply be ignored and no repercussions will follow. Why? Because the media refuses to hold liberal politicians accountable for anything, ever.
Consider what the media is reporting on today. Are they covering this story? Or are they talking about President Trump’s visit with the Pope and how the Pope seemed to not like President Trump? We cannot trust the media to do the jobs they are supposed to be doing, we have to be willing to stand up for the truth ourselves. Call your Congressmen and demand action on the latest revelations of Obama era crimes. Someone should be held accountable for violating the 4th Amendment rights of thousands of American citizens.
