Bloomberg No Different than Putin & Russia in Interfering with Elections

Is it any different for a foreign nation like Russia to take measures to influence the elections in another country and one individual using means to influence elections in other parts of the nation where they do not reside? If Putin did use hacking in an attempt to influence the American presidential election, is that any different than someone like Michael Bloomberg spending millions of dollars to influence elections in New Hampshire, Colorado or New Mexico where he does not reside?

How ethical is it for anyone with lots of money to use that money to influence legislation in other cities and states from the ones they live in? If candidates are supposed to be restricted from taking foreign donations, should not the same apply to people or entities not located in other voting jurisdictions?

Over the past several years, billionaire Michael Bloomberg, former Mayor of New York City, has been spending millions of his own dollars to push anti-Second Amendment legislation in other states like Colorado. He pumped several million dollars into Colorado where liberal Democrats passed stricter gun control measures. I wonder if Bloomberg’s millions will offset the millions of dollars the state will lose after several firearm manufacturing firms left the state or when the Outdoor Channel cancelled several programs being filmed in the Rocky Mountain State?

Earlier this week, I reported:

Trending: Science is Settled

“Democrats in the New Mexico legislature are trying to pass more bills that restrict the rights of American gun owners and further violate their Second Amendment rights.”

“Despite overwhelming opposition to the bills, the New Mexico House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee passed House Bill 50 by a 3-1 vote. If passed and signed into law, HB 50 would make it a criminal offense for any private non-licensed citizen to transfer ownership of a firearm to anyone else without first undergoing a background check and involving a licensed firearm dealer to broker the transfer…”

“The bill was sponsored by Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard, a Democrat from Los Alamos. Financing behind the bill is coming from anti-Second Amendment billionaire and former New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg. He is using millions of his personal dollars to push his personal anti-gun agenda on as many American people as possible, most of which don’t live in his area or have ever met him.”

Now we are learning that Bloomberg is again using his money to push his anti-Second Amendment agenda in New Hampshire. According to this recent report:

Yesterday there was a full page ad in New Hampshire’s Union Leader, paid for by New York gun control organization Everytown for Gun Safety. The gun safety part is emphasized because these people aren’t for gun safety at all, they are for gun bans and gun control. This is an organization run by New York City billionaire Michael Bloomberg, who has armed security for his own family yet works to take away the rights of the ‘regular people’ from protecting their families. Bloomberg uses a few women from New Hampshire who claim to be for ‘human rights’ to push an out-of-state man’s will on Granite Staters to take rights away from all people in the state, especially women.”

“Of course the ad contains falsehoods, the bogus numbers they use on a survey of all people to keep the current laws in place to begin with. What they don’t tell you is that when they survey people, they don’t bother to mention the current laws that already exist. Gun control organizations never tell the actual truth because if they did they would have to admit they were wrong. They simply want to continue infringing upon the fundamental human right to self defense, a right that is protected by both the New Hampshire Constitution and the United States constitution.”

“A real survey that asked honest questions of Granite Staters was conducted in 2015 by the grassroots organization Women’s Defense League of New Hampshire and it found that a majority agree the current law should not exist since it does allows the state to abuse citizens.”

I contend that Michael Bloomberg is just as guilty and unethical as Vladimir Putin and Russia when it comes to trying to influence the elections of others. If the US takes action against Putin and Russia for the election hacking, then they should also take action against Bloomberg. They need to lock him up and somehow restrict him from trying to influence the elections of others.
