Australian Muslim Religious Leader Under Attack for Rejecting Sharia to Live by Australian Law!

An Australian Muslim religious leader is under fire not for saying something radical and dangerous… but for just the opposite.

Imam Shaikh Mohammad Tawhidi is under siege from more extremist elements in the Australian Muslim community because he recently argued that Muslims living in Australia should put national law before Sharia law!

His fellow Muslims have been calling him a “fake” and saying that he doesn’t represent Islam at all. The attacks against the Imam have been so loud, and so numerous that he felt forced to release a video explaining why he’s currently suffering the indignities that he’s been forced to deal with.

“I am considered a fake because I would die for Australia. I am considered a fake because I live by the Australian constitution…

I am considered a fake because I glorify the Australian flag.

I am considered a fake because I reject Sharia law and live by the Australian law.

They have called me a fake Muslim Imam or a Shaikh only because I expose their intentions to create a caliphate within Australia.

I am considered a fake because I condemn terrorism. I am considered a fake because I oppose and expose extremism.

For them, I am “too” Australian.”

Imam Shaikh Mohammad Tawhidi said he rejected Sharia law and believed he should choose to live by Australian law “because I am an Australian Muslim and not a Muslim Australian.”

“I want an Islam that is compatible with the west,” recognizing that Sharia is incompatible with Western law and philosophy. “The bottom line is, I want Australia to stay Australian.”

The imam has been a controversial figure in the Australian Muslim community for quite some time, just a couple of months ago he was targeted by more extreme Muslims for denouncing a group in Sydney that wanted to create a Muslim state within Australia.

Here is the Imam on a recent news broadcast arguing that it is wrong for Muslims to kill apostates, and that Islam must be reformed:
