Have you ever noticed that the people who scream and holler for tolerance are the most intolerant people of all? They want everyone else to be tolerant of them while they refuse to be tolerant of anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
On April 19, I shared the war being raged against Christianity concerning the Jesus Lunches being served to students in Middleton, Wisconsin. It started with 4 mothers bringing their kids lunches and talking about Jesus and their Christian faith. Those kids invited other kids and the mothers continued to provide free lunches in exchange for talking about their faith. As the lunch crowd grew, they moved off campus to a nearby park and even obtained a permit from the city to use the park. The free lunches now number over 400 students and has been labeled Jesus Lunches.
Even though the Jesus Lunches take place during the lunch hour when students are free to leave the campus, school officials have been trying to stop the moms from evangelizing the students.
Now the effort to disrupt and stop the Jesus Lunches has been taken up by a local chapter of the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF). The atheist group has started offering students free pizza to gather in the park to protest and disrupt the free Jesus Lunches.
FFRF Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor, told the media:
“A generous Middleton FFRF member has provided a donation toward providing pizza for the protesting students.”
“As noted last week, we don’t think any adults, whether missionaries or atheists, should be allowed to move in upon what is essentially a captive audience of students. But if the ‘Jesus Lunches’ aren’t going to be stopped, the Freedom From Religion Foundation plans to be there too, providing some balance – and some fuel to the protesters.”
I wonder if Gaylor and her atheist cohorts would be protesting at the park if the free lunches were being offered by an LGBT or Muslim group of moms? If the students are meeting on their own time, off campus, then why should the school or atheists care?
The reason is that some students have made professions of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Heaven forbid, anyone should allow anyone else to become a Christian on their own time.
When I was in high school, anyone trying to persecute any Christian or Christian activity would be tarred, feathered and run out of town. In 1899, the Supreme Court ruled America a Christian nation. In 1964, the Supreme Court does a 180 and throws God and Christianity out of public schools and government. Today, Christianity has become the most persecuted religion in America. We are truly a nation under God’s judgment as described in Romans 1:18-31.
