Antifa ICE Protesters Frighten Non-Profit Food Cart Into Shutting Down

Once again we see that it is liberals who pose a danger to our democracy, not to mention public safety.

This time we see it in Portland, Oregon, where the owners of a food cart were so frightened of the threats from anti-ICE protesters that they felt forced to close down their non-profit business.

The threat comes from the large number of protesters that have infested downtown Portland to protest the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement building. Antifa-styled protesters have been roaming the area for a month, already, in their effort to force the federal government to stop enforcing our immigration laws. And the protests show no signs of abating.

A week into the protests, OPB.org wrote:

Demonstrators have occupied the space surrounding the ICE facility for nearly a week in protest of the Trump administration’s hardline immigration policy that has led to family separations at the southern U.S. border.

So far, police presence at the protest, dubbed Occupy ICE PDX, has been minimal. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has said he doesn’t want Portland Police getting involved.

Protesters say they have no plans of leaving, but there is some fear about how long law enforcement will continue its hands-off approach.

There have been some few arrests, granted. At the end of June 8 were apprehended:

Federal police in riot gear arrested at least eight demonstrators Thursday and dismantled a makeshift camp on the grounds of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Portland.

Demonstrators from Occupy ICE PDX took over part of the grounds eight days ago to protest the separation of families on the U.S.-Mexican border under the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy.

On Thursday, Department of Homeland Security police stood shoulder-to-shoulder across the entryway to the grounds while other officers dismantled and removed the makeshift camp, protest signs and barriers of wooden crates.

A few dozen protesters walked along in front of the line of police shouting slogans at the officers. “No justice, no peace, no racist police,” one group chanted. Others screamed profanities at the officers.

At least eight people were arrested, according to KOIN-TV.

Thus far, it has been a “hands off approach” by the authorities, but a lot of local citizens are getting sick and tired of the now month-long protest. Indeed, some locals are coming to fear the brashness and threats from these unwashed malcontents.

The threats from these Antifa fanatics have become so bad that a non-profit food cart has announced that it is closing down because the owners feel that their safety has been put in jeopardy by the protesters.

Owners of the Happy Camper cart use the money they make from lunch sales to fund a non-profit organization called Operation Off The Grid, which helps the homeless around Portland.

“It’s our passion due to the fact that Julie and I were both homeless in our past,” owner said Scott Hakes told KATU. “We had always said that if we ever get to the point where we could give back, we would.”

But their food stand happens to be across the street from the Portland ICE office that is now under siege. And the Antifa protesters have become to threatening to continue, the Hakes’ say.

But now the homeless will be left in the lurch thanks to the Antifa creeps:

It started several weeks ago when Hakes says protesters were yelling at his daughter. Hakes provided KATU News with video showing someone from the camp across the street yelling at his daughter with a megaphone.

“She’s laughing at the immigration laws that have f****d over families,” said the unidentified protester.

In the video, Hakes daughter says, “Do you hear them? They think I’m laughing at them. So now they are targeting us now.”

“Boom – there it went. We were on the number one hit list from that point on,” said Hakes.

Since then, Hakes says protesters have harassed his customers. Business went down 80 percent.

“We were down to making $50 a day. I think there was one day we made $25,” said Hakes.

Hakes says protesters threatened to burn down his cart on multiple occasions. He says they threatened his daughter and her boyfriend.

“If they catch her outside the cart they are going to hurt her. They are constantly saying they are going to hurt her. They’re constantly cussing at her and screaming at her,” said Hakes. “She finally had enough. She called me up on the phone, crying. I said ‘Breanna, shut the doors, we’re done.’”

Hakes also said that he had gone to the protest leaders three times to get them to lay off their food cart reminding them that all the money goes to what they should consider a worthy cause. But no one has been interested in addressing the problem.

“They’re not rational individuals,” Hakes said of the protesters.

So, now the food cart is history, thanks to threats from these Antifa Cretins. And they say the U.S. government is a threat to our nation!
