Alec Baldwin’s career was virtually over late last year, but the notoriously ornery actor was resurrected by Saturday Night Live’s need for his shoddy Trump impression.
Baldwin, who was famously booted from an airplane for refusing to stop playing a children’s game on his telephone, came running back to the NBC staple in order to stammer and sputter his way through an extraordinarily boring impression of the Commander in Chief. During this tenure, the failing program received a brief spike in ratings; something that seems to happen every four years at SNL as Americans tune back in particularly for their leftist politics.
Now, as Hollywood continues to crumble under the weight of sexual abuse allegations of all kinds, Baldwin has been forced to get out in front of inevitable allegations against himself by admitting to “bullying” women during his career. The problem is, many have forgotten that this staunch democrat has a notorious history of homophobia as well.
“While being honored Thursday for a ‘distinguished career,’ Baldwin confessed ‘I certainly have treated women in a very sexist way. I’ve bullied women. I’ve overlooked women. I’ve underestimated women.’
“Baldwin also came close to admitting he knew about the alleged predatory behavior of his lifelong friend James Toback, who has directed Baldwin in a number of films. Of this Baldwin said, ‘I knew of certain things, that there were rumors of things happening to people, but I didn’t necessarily know the scope, when you hear the hundreds and hundreds of women who are complaining about this[.]’
“While the famously homophobic actor did not go the Kevin Spacey route and ask forgiveness by promising to live life as a gay man, he did say, ‘I really would like that to change … We’ve got to be vigilant in a new way to make sure that everybody is comfortable and that we get the job done together that we’re there to do.’
“The left-wing Obama/Hillary supporter’s horrific treatment of women extends to his very own daughter, who he called a ‘pig’” during an infamous voicemail rant against her that went public. He has also called a female journalist a ‘nutty bitch.’”
Baldwin’s attempt at a preemptive strike is nothing new in Hollywood, but the swiftness of his action screams guilt.
In all likelihood, Baldwin saw the writing on the wall that his previous behavior would not be tolerated when, not if, it became public knowledge. While the left would like to believe that the has-been actor’s admission is of genuine concern, there is no doubt in the minds of many that this was simply a C.Y.A. maneuver spurred on by his legal team who need Baldwin to stay wealthy in order to get paid.
Now, the real question is, will the left fall for Baldwin’s half-hearted message and simply ignore his long history of hatred for the homosexual community?
