Airlines Refuse To Use Their Planes for Migrant Kids — DHS Says…

American Airlines and several other major U.S. carriers jumped into pure pander mode on Wednesday, virtue signaling to liberals that they caaaare about all the little migrant children. But, the Department of Homeland Security smacked them down with some truth telling, totally grounding the airlines’ fake news claims.

One of the first to make its “bold” statement today was American Airlines. AA demanded that the U.S. government stop using its planes to fly migrant children away from illegal alien parents… even though the company admitted it has no evidence at all that this has ever happened in the first place.

Are you confused? Well, lets don’t let facts get in the way of your airline virtue signaling to the world that it is a good liberal company, OK?

On Wednesday, June 20, as the whole of the old media complex went all in to help the Democrat Party attack President Donald Trump over his purported policy of “separating kids” from illegal alien parents, the CEO of American Airlines jumped into the fray to make it look like his company cares about the kids.

In a statement issued to Business Insider, AA CEO Doug Parker, crowed that he’s doing it for the kids:

The country’s largest airline said in a statement on Wednesday that it had notified the federal government that it does not want any children who have been separated from their families by immigration officials at the US-Mexico border to be transported on its planes.

“The family separation process that has been widely publicized is not at all aligned with the values of American Airlines — we bring families together, not apart,” the airline, based in Fort Worth, Texas, said in the statement, adding, “We have therefore requested the federal government to immediately refrain from using American for the purpose of transporting children who have been separated from their families due to the current immigration policy.”

While it is true that the U.S. government does have contracts with most of the nation’s large carriers to transport all sorts of people for all sorts of reasons, American Airlines had to admit that it has no known cases of the government using AA to ship immigrant kids around the country.

So, essentially AA and CEO Parker are talking out of their rear end and “boldly standing up” to announce that they won’t do something they’ve never been asked to do. How brave of them.

This is the very definition of meaningless, empty virtue signaling.

Here is the company’s full statement:

“The family separation process that has been widely publicized is not at all aligned with the values of American Airlines — we bring families together, not apart. American, like many U.S. airlines, provides travel to the federal government through contracts; however, the government does not disclose information about the nature of the flights it takes or the passengers who are traveling. While we have carried refugees for non-profits and the government, many of whom are being reunited with family or friends, we have no knowledge that the federal government has used American to transport children who have been separated from their parents due to the recent immigration policy, but we would be extremely disappointed to learn that is the case.

“We have therefore requested the federal government to immediately refrain from using American for the purpose of transporting children who have been separated from their families due to the current immigration policy. We have no desire to be associated with separating families, or worse, to profit from it. We have every expectation the government will comply with our request and we thank them for doing so.”

Other airlines quickly joined American Airlines. United, Southwest, and Frontier all jumped in to say the same thing American did. Yet not one could say if they ever actually carried any illegal alien children. So, just like American Airlines, they were only virtue-signaling, as well.

Still, despite all this nonsense, the DHS put out a statement crushing them all and noting that the U.S. government has no idea what the airlines were talking about.

According to Politico:

DHS spokesman Tyler Houlton fired backed with a statement and tweet-storm accusing the airlines of “buckling to a false media narrative.”

“It’s unfortunate that @AmericanAir, @united, and @FlyFrontier no longer want to partner with the brave men and women of DHS to protect the traveling public, combat human trafficking, and to swiftly reunite unaccompanied illegal immigrant children with their families,” Houlton wrote. “Despite being provided facts on this issue, these airlines clearly do not understand our immigration laws and the long-standing devastating loopholes that have caused the crisis at our southern border.”

Of course, this isn’t the only time that AA has courted the morally repugnant left. Just this month AA appealed to “fly Queens” in an attempt to signal to the left that the airline loves them some drag queens and transgenders.

Imagine sitting next to one of those on you 8 hour flight to whereever?
