There are no shortage of strange and hyperbolic claims emanating from the left side of the American political spectrum, many of which stem from something simply known as “Trump Derangement Syndrome”.
This hilariously named, faux medical condition seems to perfectly sum up the bizarre behavior of the democrats over the course of the last few years, as President Donald Trump’s successes continue to push them further and further into the political deep end. For instance, earlier this week, house minority leader Nancy Pelosi was unable to even speak the word “Constitution” without suffering from a bizarre, involuntary facial spasm that made it appear that pontificating on the subject of true freedom somehow pained the democratic diva.
Now, the newest darling of the democratic tribe, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is jumping on the bandwagon of hyperbolic hullabaloo with her own claim to the Trump Derangement Syndrome’s vocal impairments, claiming that when America enforces the law at the border it is akin to Nazis attempting to eliminate the entirety of the Jewish race.
During an appearance on this week’s “In The Thick” podcast, Ocasio-Cortez, when speaking about the “Abolish ICE” movement that got momentum after her primary win over Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY), said, “But we also have to ask ourselves the question: How much is this black-box detention necessary? And you look at these facilities—we’re caging women and children, we’re jumping to criminalize people…”
The podcast’s co-host then interjected: “Kinda like ethnic cleansing.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded: “I mean we’re on that spectrum, I would say.”
The democratic socialist isn’t the first to insinuate such nonsense either.
After Trump referred to MS-13 illegal immigrant gangsters as “animals” earlier this year, the pro-amnesty group United We Dream group also accused Trump of “building up a racially motivated rationale for his immoral and brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing.”
These pathetic and disturbing attacks on the rule of law and the President’s choice to uphold that sacred reality are not only misleading and purposely provocative, but they denigrate the memories of those who have truly suffered from the horrors of genocide and ethnic cleansing.
Shame of those who would dare to conflate the two. Your severe lack of historical perspective should automatically disqualify you from the possibility of public office.
