Here’s a controversial statement: liberals are right, the world is rife with bigotry and hate. Here’s an even more controversial statement: liberals are wrong about who is being persecuted and discriminated against.
While liberals worry about fake issues like Islamophobia, tens of thousands of Christians are being slaughtered, hundreds of thousands of Christians are being abused, and millions of Christians are being persecuted for their faith. While liberals have no proof of rampant Islamophobia, we do have facts, data, and meticulously recorded evidence of rampant anti-Christian hate.
Last year we reported that 2015 was “the most violent and sustained attack on Christian faith in modern history,” but it seems that 2016 has far surpassed 2015 for worst on record for Christians.
It was difficult to understand the full scope of what was taking place in 2015 until Open Doors USA released its latest report.
The Open Doors world survey found that more than 7,100 Christians were martyred for their faith in 2015, a strikingly high number that is unprecedented in recent history. Sadly, persecution of Christians saw a major spike on every inhabited continent in 2015.
Sadly, the numbers of dead have increased exponentially according to a new report from the Turin-based Center for Studies on New Religions (CESNUR).
During the year 2016, some 90,000 Christians were killed for their faith around the world…
The 2016 report found that “Islamic extremism is by far the most significant persecution engine” of Christians in the world today and that “40 of the 50 countries on the World Watch List are affected by this kind of persecution”…
While tens of thousands of Christians are killed for their faith, Introvigne said, they are just the tip of the iceberg and much persecution takes place on a daily basis that never makes news.
CESNUR’s annual study, which is slated for release next month, indicates that between 500 and 600 million Christians were in some way persecuted and prevented from freely practicing their faith.
The world is a dangerous place for certain religious groups, but it’s not Islam that has to worry about widespread persecution and oppression… it’s Christianity.
