UC Berkeley Gets Slapped With Massive Lawsuit After Milo Cancelation

In February 2017, an egregious attack on our freedom of speech took place in California, on the campus of UC Berkeley.

Campus conservatives had booked political activist Milo Yiannopolous to speak at the university, just weeks after the inauguration of Donald Trump as President of the United States.  Tensions were high across the country at that time, particularly on liberal leaning college campuses where “resistance” to the newly-minted President was considered mandatory for these malleable millennials.  These children of academia, raised on movies depicting the 60’s as “radical”, now believed that protesting the election of a President, in an election with no evidence of any wrongdoing, was the kind of thing that would be romanticized for generations to come.

So, in all of their dingy and dim “brilliance”, these youngsters had begun targeting any and all conservative symbols and idea, including those of Milo Yiannopolous.  When the speaker was scheduled to engage the students at UC Berkeley, the liberal faction of New Fascists enrolled there began an all out assault on the campus and the surrounding city.  There were riots.  Arson.  Violence.  All because they didn’t want to hear what Yiannopolous had to say.

Very simply put:  It was tyrannical censorship.

Now, in the wake of those repugnant demonstrations, UC Berkeley could be on the hook for more than just the cost of admission to the Milo engagement.

“A fan of former Breitbart senior editor Milo Yiannopoulos is suing UC Berkeley for $23 million, claiming routine abuse against conservative students on campus.

“The fan of Milo, whose book Dangerous reached #1 on Amazon’s best sellers list within a day of being made available to pre-order this week, claims that her First Amendment rights were infringed after she was forced to evacuate Milo’s speech on-campus in February when a left-wing protest turned into a violent riot.

“’The suit, filed in federal court in California on Monday alleges that the defendants “have subjected UC Berkeley students and invitees who do not subscribe to the radical, left wing philosophies sanctioned by Defendants to severe violence and bodily harm for merely expressing a differing viewpoint, in clear contravention of their rights under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,”‘ reported SF Gate on Tuesday. ‘In addition to the UC Berkeley Regents, the suit’s many defendants include UC president Janet Napolitano, the UC Berkeley police department, the Berkeley police department, frequent conservative target George Soros and California representative Nancy Pelosi.’”

America itself was founded on principles of free speech, and that inalienable right must be preserved at all costs.  By allowing violence to persist, as the police in Berkeley did, they were enablers for a bevy of bratty bookworms who were afraid of being offended.
