Presidential candidate Donald Trump, who is normally so shy about expressing his opinions, on Sunday reiterated that if he were president he would bring back waterboarding and “a hell of a lot worse” in dealing with captured terrorists.
One thing The Donald can be counted on to do is to call ’em like he sees ’em, and he was mincing no words about Islamic terrorism at his Sunday campaign stop in New Hampshire.
Referring to ISIS and its numerous barbaric atrocities against Christians, Trump said, “We are living in medieval times. There’s never been a time like this. Medieval times, they chop your head off. Even in the Wild West, you’d get shot, but they didn’t chop your head off.”
Actually, the “Wild West” was a lot more civilized even than many modern cities. But I digress.
It’s refreshing to hear a candidate talking about the reality of Islamic — yes, Islamic — terrorism instead of pandering to Muslim voters with a bunch of PC fluff about “the religion of peace.”
Trump’s opinions about waterboarding are just the latest of many statements that horrify the flower-child Left. At Saturday’s debate he said in response to a question:
“We have people chopping the heads off many other people. We have things that we have never seen before. As a group, we have never seen before what’s happening right now. … I mean, we studied medieval times; not since medieval times have people seen what’s going on. I would bring back waterboarding, and I’d bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding.”
There is a certain type of liberal that gets the vapors anytime violence is a possibility — that is, unless you’re a white cop, a conservative or an unborn child, in which case they want you dead.
Personally, I say that if some SOB plots against the United States or plans to mass murder innocent people, then anything necessary to get him to spill the beans on future plots is fair play.
Honestly, bamboo shoots under the fingernails would be nothing compared to the types of tortures ISIS and other Islamist barbarians plan and act out regularly for innocents, including children.
I have my concerns about Trump’s candidacy and possible future presidency, but his commitment to treating bad guys like bad guys deserve to be treated isn’t one of them.
