Why School Choice Is Important (and Protecting Kids from Drugs)

In this critical election year, the morals of this country are at stake, especially given the Supreme Court Justices who will be replaced and the vacancy. And frankly, the morals of “political correctness” have just increasingly led to drug use, abortions, and drug overdoses. For example, there have been more drug overdoses in 2014 than auto deaths. And just in Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago, there were 174 heroin overdoses in just 6 days!

So then what is one big way that the drug culture is promoted? Peer pressure in public schools. A good way to combat this is by having school choice with having the option of more studious and more moral schools. And that is something that Donald Trump proposes. (The fact that Hillary Clinton is still running is so bizarre that it borders on being a Twilight Zone episode starring a blind public.)

To cure the fallout from years of political correctness, I have developed a program that shows how to resolve a drug problem. And here is the essence of it.

We don’t have the power to create peace and strength. We have the power to do the very specific, pre-ordained things that will create peace and strength … but we don’t have the power to determine what those things are. They come with the inherent package of the human design. And peace and strength actually are the natural state. But then thoughts and actions will either allow them to continue and increase … or decrease. And if those thoughts and actions are anti-nature, our experience will turn to being unpleasant, in an attempt by nature to correct our thoughts and actions to its ways.

Here’s the punch line: Be natural and feel good, or suffer the consequences from being unnatural. So the question then becomes: what is natural, and what isn’t? And the current culture mostly has this wrong. (And the Bible has it right). And that wrong is promoted through movies, music, television, print … and then enforced with laws and peer pressure (which is especially harsh on tender hearted children).

So then, how does a person appease culture and peer pressure, when their body is saying “NO!” Well they either listen to their body, or they use drugs and self-suppression and being phony as a feeling management system that goes along with the culture. This is why home schooling or school choice with vetted schools are critical to the formative years of children, where emotional support and agreement with their peers is critical. Plus a quality basic education is very critical to being able to make a good living.

The bottom line is: harmony with God and the Bible equals harmony with our being. And THAT is what yields peace and strength.
