Obama Uses Bible to Support ‘Transgender Rights’

Why is it that liberals only use the Bible when they believe they have found some smidgen of support for one of their bizarre policies? The latest is President Obama’s claim that the following Scripture passage is prima facie evidence that Jesus would support “transgender rights”:

“My reading of scripture tells me that that [the] Golden Rule is pretty high up there in terms of my Christian belief.”

And what is the “Golden Rule”?: “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matt. 7:12).

Not to get too far off track, but the Golden Rule applies to unborn people, so why does Obama support the right of women to kill their unborn babies? Unborn babies are not made-up sexual categories.

The Golden Rule does not nullify the law and the prophets; it summarizes “the law and the prophets.” A summary does not nullify what it summarizes. Here’s what we know from the law and the prophets. There are only two sexes: male and female (Gen. 1:27; 2:20-25; Matt. 19:4). Biology tells us as much. (There are some very rare exceptions when a person is born with male and female genitalia.) The law tells us that same-sex sexuality is condemned (Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Rom. 1:25-27; 1 Cor. 6:9-11; 1 Tim. 1:8-11). There is no exception by an appeal to the Golden Rule. Someone who is violating God’s law can’t use the Golden Rule in an attempt to nullify God’s law.

Then there’s this from Deuteronomy 22:5:

“A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”

Some kid may think he’s a girl (or guy) or wants to be a girl (or guy) or wants to make himself or herself look like the opposite sex, but their choice does not make any of it so. No matter how a person feels or believes, they are either male or female. Forcing me or anyone else to accept an exception to that truth is not a Golden Rule category.

President Obama went on to say, “What happened and what continues to happen is you have transgender kids in schools and they get bullied and they get ostracized and it’s tough for them.”

I’m not for bullying anyone, no matter how bizarre a person’s behavior might be. But I’m also not going to accept a fictional sexual category in order to satisfy someone’s confusion or delusion. There is no such thing as a “transgender” kid or adult. The sexual categories of “homosexual” and “bisexual” also do not exist. People make sexual choices for any number of reasons. That includes multiple sexual partners, adultery, prostitution, pedophilia, pornography, fetishes, teachers having sex with underage students (some of them getting pregnant, the latest of which is a 24-year-old teacher with a 13-year-old student), etc. There are no special protective laws for these types of sexual practices or ‘Pride’ parades.

President Obama made a further comment:

“I have profound respect for everybody’s religious beliefs on this, but if you’re at a public school, the question is, how do we just make sure that, children are treated with kindness.”

It’s obvious that he does not have “respect for everybody’s religious beliefs” on this issue. How do we make sure that children are treated with kindness? Certainly not by feeding their delusion and confusion. In fact, anyone who accepts the transgender/homosexual fiction is doing great harm by refusing to love his neighbor (Lev. 19:18; Matt. 19:19; 22:39; John 13:34; Gal. 5:14). Obama is accepting without evidence that transgenderism is as real and normal comparable to the only two real sexes. Just because a person feels or believes a certain way does not make it so. These kids need counseling, not enabling.
