There have been several instances where the Obama Administration has shown a lack of understanding of current conditions. They almost seem to be trying to reveal their lack of competence. As if they want all the world to know that they are in over their heads.
There is no area in which this is truer than the fight against ISIS. With remarks about ISIS being on the run, under pressure and the like, they have shown that they do not have any real understanding of the war. They fail to understand who it is they are fighting.
And this happened again this morning.
Secretary of State John Kerry faced swift criticism Wednesday for suggesting the terror attack at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport was evidence the Islamic State is getting “desperate” – an assessment one top Republican official said, “defies reality.”
Kerry made the remarks late Tuesday at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado, referring to ISIS by the name Daesh.
Crediting coalition efforts, Kerry said it’s been over a year since the group launched a “full-scale military offensive.”
So, for John Kerry, the successful operation carried out in a foreign land is an indication of losing the war? He cannot be serious.
I would like to point out that while U.S. and Coalition Forces were defeating Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Iraq, there were no attacks on ourselves or our allies. Granted this was a different enemy, but it was successful to keep the enemy so busy that foreign missions were impossible.
Rather, what is happening is the apparent failure to halt or cripple ISIS’s ability to bring the fight to us is what is making Kerry desperate. He is desperate to cover up the fact that he and Obama are out of their depths.
And America and her allies are going to pay for this failed policy with blood until we change tactics.
