Scales of justice

The Judicial System just Viciously went After this Cancer Patient

The Judicial System in Sherwood Arkansas  is practicing judicial over-reach.

They are doing it in the most cruelest of fashions. It’s hard to imagine someone dying of cancer.  Consequently, it’s harder to imagine that person realizing he’s run out of financial options to stay alive. Even harder to realize that they are now being put in jail. The Judicial System has become a cruel tyrant. The Judicial System has decided to take cancer patients who can’t pay their bills, throw them in the slammer and throw away the key.

Lee Robertson’s trouble began in late 2009, when he was undergoing his first stint of chemotherapy to battle the pancreatic cancer that had made it impossible for him to work. In the course of two weeks, Robertson wrote 11 checks at stores near his home for small amounts ranging from $5 to $41.

Robertson started off owing a few stores about $200. Six years and seven arrests later, in a closed courtroom in Sherwood District Court in Arkansas, Judge Milas “Butch” Hale sentenced the cancer patient to 90 days in jail. His crime? Owing the court $3,054.51.

The Judicial System practicing overreach? Come on now. Aren’t conservatives supposed to be about the rule of law?

As a matter of fact, personal debt is out of control in this country.  Personal debt is set to bankrupt us all. Consequently, debt will bankrupt us if it’s not taken care of. I ask you, though, when was the last time  we saw in this country that level of insensitivity from the Judicial System? What we are seeing is a cold, un-sympathetic government who is in the process of taking control of the entire healthcare system.  In addition with that take-over comes an unfeeling, unsympathetic cold hand of death.

The Judicial System that treats people like numbers and mere dogs that should be put out of their misery if they can’t afford their medical bills.

This is what Obamacare has done to our country. Its tentacles have dug deep into our society.  Obamacare continues to hold our attention to the cold reality that their are no more patients. There are just numbers. The Judicial System, along with the healthcare system, are all part of Obama’s radical transformation to turn this country inside out. This cold, un-caring tone from the Judicial System in deep south Arkansas is troubling.  It is the direct result of the expensive, over-reaching bureaucratic valiathan that is set to consume us all.
