Jeff Bridges Eschews Hollywood’s Hatred of Trump, Wishes POTUS The Best

The unbelievably un-American filth that has been emanating from Tinsel Town in recent months has had many Americans up in arms.

From the cringe-worthy whining of Lena Dunham and other millennial miscreants, to the terrifying and brutal publicity stunts by Kathy Griffin and Snoop Dogg, Hollywood has become well-known for their staunch resistance to President Donald Trump.  The crude and violent imagery of the left has been embraced by these D-list stars has gone on to inspire some of the most egregious acts in American political history, including the shooting attack on congressional republicans carried out by Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer James T. Hodgkinson that many on the left hoped would spark a New Civil War.

Through all of this hatred and nonsense, very few celebrity voices have resonated in any sort of realistic and truthful manner, as the bipartisan divisiveness of our nation continues to warp our political process.  Jeff Bridges, however, prefers to keep it classy.

“But when it comes to critiquing the role of today’s real-life president, Bridges is a lot more laid back than some of his fellow celebrities. How would The Dude, the character he played in ‘The Big Lebowski,’ handle things?

“He likely wouldn’t be dangling a severed head in the likeness of President Donald Trump, as comedian Kathy Griffin came under fire for. Neither would The Dude joke about killing the president as Johnny Depp recently did. Griffin and Depp later apologized.

“‘Everybody has something different and unique to contribute to society and with different ways of doing it,’ Bridges said in an interview Wednesday with The Associated Press, after taking part on a panel focused on child hunger at a meeting of the Western Governors Association in Whitefish, Montana.

“‘Some people will be blatantly out there talking about their disappointments and ridiculing the way President Trump is acting,’ said Bridges, who supported Hillary Clinton in last year’s election.

“‘I’m rooting for him to do well by our country,’ he said. ‘I’m rooting for him as a human being to do the cool thing,’ Bridges said, as he pivoted back to his work against childhood hunger.”

Bridges, who is one of the most well respected thespians of our modern era, has brought a sense of tact and perspective back into Hollywood’s anti-Trump rhetoric.

While Bridges may personally be at odds with the President, he certainly understands the importance of the position and the integrity of the office.  As we’ve said before, when the President succeeds, America succeeds, and that is a reality not lost on the True Grit actor.  While others within elite Hollywood circles will continue to promote violence and anger against the leader of the free world, the man responsible for bringing us The Dude will abide.
