Iran is Systematically Killing Pet Dogs Because of This [VIDEO]

In Iran there are “dog police.” If a dog owner is found walking his/her dog in public, they will be fined, arrested, put in jail, and their dog can be confiscated, put in dog jail, and killed.

In Islam, dogs are considered “najes” (unclean) and “haram” (forbidden). Iran’s local prosecutor, Mohsen Boosaidi, is confiscating and killing dogs because they are “haram.” And, under his newly proposed law, dog owners could face 74 lashes for owning dogs.

In the past, dog owners used to pay fines to keep their pets safe, but now the Tehran police are capturing and killing the dogs they find. According to Islam, “Allah knows best; dogs carry diseases in their saliva.”

Iranian dog police often stop and fine dog walkers, with the exception of guard dogs or service dogs, in accordance with the Hadith.

Michele Brown, of the International Rescue Foundation, and also reported by “Love is an Animal,” a 70-year-old man was walking his dog in a suburb of Tehran, was arrested, sentenced to four months in jail, and given 30 lashes.

For walking his dog– a judge charged him with “disturbing the public order.”

Dogs are being confiscated from their owners both forcefully and under false pretense.

In another instance, according to the Shahrvand newspaper, Iranian officials came to a dog owner’s home and showed him “a piece of paper indicating they were from the municipal veterinary office. They came in and took away our dogs under the pretext of vaccination.” But, when he went to the vet’s office his dog wasn’t there and there was no record of his dog.

Boosaidi told the Fars news agency,

“Keeping and caring for dogs is haram (forbidden) according to religious leaders. If we find out that anyone is keeping and caring for dogs and so is promoting vulgar Western culture, we will deal with them firmly.”

He told the Shahrvand newspaper:

“Ever since our dog was taken away, you only hear the sound of crying and sobbing in our house.”

Dogs are also taken from their owners and put in dog jails before they are killed. According to The Society for the Protection of Animals the dog owners are not even allowed to pay fines to reclaim their dog.

David Al-e Davood, the head of Iran’s Society For Protection of Animals, said these actions are illegal. He adds, “Keeping dogs has not been regarded as haram in any religious book. Associating keeping dogs with Western culture is distorting the history of Islamic and Iranian civilization.”

But it’s not just dog owners.

Stray dogs are are also systematically shot to death by city workers on the streets.

Other dogs are buried alive after being thrown into deep pits– still howling and whimpering.
