In a country struggling under the weight of more and more refugees from the Middle East, and fewer and fewer options for them to leave, Italy is beginning to feel the stress of open hospitality. First Austria and then Switzerland closed off their borders with the overwhelmed country, and there seems to be no end to the waves of humanity pouring onto their shores from the Mediterranean Sea.
While the Italians, like many southern states before them, try to figure out what they are going to do with all these people, the Pope made a video which was shown Tuesday. This video will probably not help the situation.
On behalf of modern society, Pope Francis begged the forgiveness of
migrants and refugees Tuesday, asking them to forgive our “closed-mindedness and indifference” and insisting that each migrant has “the face of God.”
“Too often you have not been welcomed,” Francis said. “Forgive the closed-mindedness and indifference of our societies, which fear the change of lifestyle and mentality that your presence requires.”
Yes, it is awful that Europeans resist sharia and the rape of their women by a band of cowards too weak and fearful to fight for their own homes. Forgive that they resist the theft of home and wages. Forgive the resistance to the destruction and pilfering of their homes.
It seems that the Pope’s brand of Christianity is one that calls all men to reject their male duties to protect their families and homes. And to make it worse, he would try to quote our Savior to justify such weakness.
“I was a stranger, and you welcomed me,” the Pope said, citing Jesus’ words as recorded in Matthew’s Gospel. Each of you, he said, has “the face of God and the flesh of Christ.”
Christ gave this instruction to individual Christians to help the people they would find in everyday life. Christ did not have all of a country or society in mind here. But like most socialists, the Pope willfully misuses scripture to guilt true Christians into giving all they have earned away.
And to lead the way, the millions and millions of dollars the Vatican has at their disposal they take in twelve people. Twelve?
By his actions, Pope Francis has most likely doomed Italy to be the next Muslim country in Europe.
