While globalists require populations to receive the refugees from their needless wars, Obama shows that elites live differently.
Even after a couple of defeats (Brexit, Trump), globalists require policies that voters hate. But the champions of these globalist policies don’t allow themselves to feel the consequences of these policies.
When I saw this story at Yahoo News I thought it might show an establishment figure rethinking what globalists require of various nations. The first paragraph gave me hope:
The incoming head of the United Nations warned on Tuesday that “losers of globalization” in rich countries have felt ignored by establishment politicians, prompting them to turn to nationalist agendas, as in the U.S. election and Brexit referendum.
But immediately he doubled down on the usual demands:
Antonio Guterres, elected in October to take over as U.N. secretary general next year, told a conference in his native Lisbon that this trend had undermined the willingness to receive refugees in Europe this year.
He said the world must re-establish international protection for refugees coming from war zones such as Syria, but it would not be easy as developed countries were turning to nationalist agendas.
Europe has struggled to handle a huge influx of refugees, many of whom displaced by the war in Syria. The United States has accepted only a very small number of refugees and may take in even fewer next year.
“In 2016, we have witnessed a dramatic deterioration of that international protection regime (for refugees),” Guterres said.
“This example started in the developed world, it started essentially in Europe, it is spreading now like a virus into other parts of the world.”
The whole reason for the refugee crisis is the U.S. government taking upon itself to change the government in Syria. The refugee crisis is one of the costs of that war that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton chose for us.
Furthermore, we have now all witnessed European leaders turning a blind eye to how people are suffering from their refugee policies. We see our own leaders encouraging policies to the detriment of the people. Arguably, the infliction of the migrant crisis on Europe provoked a nationalist backlash in the entire Western world.
But these global elites exempt themselves from the requirements they impose on us.
For instance, The Daily Caller reports,
Throughout President Barack Obama’s time in office, he’s taken pains to emphasize the importance of diversity, but now the Obamas have purchased their fifth home, and it’s located in a small golf resort town near Palm Springs that’s just 1.5 percent black and 88 percent white.
Palm Springs is basically a small golf resort town where elites like to live and where they don’t have to see many poor people of any color.
People who can afford to live there don’t have concerns about their safety or their economic security. They don’t have to deal with the problems of the working class—white, black, or other.
This demonstrates the hypocrisy of globalists, but the media covers for them. If Steve Bannon had moved into such a neighborhood the mainstream media would have covered it relentlessly to support their lie that all anti-globalism is motivated by racism.
