Famous Hollywood Director says there are “Superior Beings” Out There Somewhere

The sixth Alien movie is nearing its theatrical release, and its famous director has shared his thoughts on whether life exists on other planets…

Ridley Scott directed the first “Alien” film, which was released in 1979. It is a classic, and it spawned several sequels. His new film, Alien: Covenant is scheduled to be released on May 12, and it seems he’s given into the movie’s premise:

He said: “I believe in superior beings. I think it is certainly likely.

“An expert I was talking to at NASA said to me ‘have you ever looked in the sky at night? You mean to tell me we are it?’ That’s ridiculous.

“The experts have now put a number on it having assessed what is out there. They say that there are between 100 and 200 entities that could be having a similar evolution to us right now.

“So when you see a big thing in the sky, run for it. Because they are a lot smarter than we are, and if you are stupid enough to challenge them you will be taken out in three seconds.”

Of course, there’s a big difference between discovering life on another planet, and discovering intelligent life. The official search for life so far has focused on finding some kind of bacteria-like micro-organism embedded in ancient rocks. This was the thrust of the big 1996 announcement that life on Mars had been discovered. In reality, a rock was found in Antarctica that had crystals on it that looked similar to crystals that microbes produce on earth.

Now that’s a big stretch, for sure. “Bacteria” is not the same thing as “bacteria poop.” It’s not even close to the same thing as “stuff that looks like bacteria poop.” There was lots of speculation involved, and the announcement was, and still is, controversial.

But, so what if we find bacteria living on another planet? What if we even went so far as to find something like dolphins, dogs, or monkeys on another planet? The difference between “life,” and “intelligent life” is huge…
