Eight years ago, America eagerly anticipated her first black president. Hopes were high across the country. Many honestly believed Barack Obama would deliver Martin Luther King’s dream. Instead, he was just another Progressive Democrat out to retain political power.
Republican Abraham Lincoln abolished decades of slavery in all Confederate States in 1863 with the Emancipation Proclamation. The 13th Amendment ended slavery in all states in 1865. It passed with 100% Republican support and only 23% Democrat support.
After the Civil War, the anti-slavery Republican Party continued ensuring the God-given rights, liberties and freedoms to the black man . Congress passed both the 14th and 15th Amendments without a single Democrat vote. Republicans alone granted former slaves citizenship, equal rights and protection, along with giving all black Americans the right to vote. Democrats even tried to prevent the first black U.S. Senator, Republican Hiram Rhodes Revels, from being sworn in.
By the end of Reconstruction, Southern Democrats regained many state congresses. To bypass the 14th Amendment, under the guise of “separate but equal“, the south began passing Jim Crow laws. If Southern Democrats could not enslave blacks with chains, they would oppress them with regulations.
It was not until 1912 that America elected another southern president. Progressive Democrat Woodrow Wilson promised fairness for blacks and won their support. However, once in office he implemented federal workplace and military segregation. Racial southern power spread nationally as minority rights were suppressed. Under Wilson, Jim Crow laws extended across the entire country. Throughout the south, Wilson blessed the firing of federal black workers and hiring of white replacements.
Wilson revived the all but dead Ku Klux Klan with his support of “Birth of a Nation“. With newfound power, the KKK used intimidation to force the almost exclusive Republican black population to vote Democrat.
Wilson wiped out decades of advancement for blacks in just a few short years.
At the 100th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, blacks were again fighting for their liberty. As with Wilson, another southern Progressive Democrat was in office hindering any civil rights progress for blacks. As Senate Majority leader during the Eisenhower Administration, Lyndon B. Johnson blocked civil rights bills the Republicans proposed. He greatly weakened the two Civil Rights Acts he did allow in 1957 and 1960.
As president, Johnson realized he had to use the law to restrain the people he considered inferior. In his eyes:
“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”
Equal rights would endanger the Democrat Party’s power. Johnson needed to put the black man back on the plantation. So, he made them slaves of the state.
First, Johnson signed the exact same legislation he strongly opposed just years before. Therefore allowing Democrats to take credit for bills Republicans pushed for decades.
With Johnson’s “War on Poverty”, he shackled black citizens to the government with food, housing, and clothing. They received it not by picking cotton, but by picking Democrat candidates.
Johnson’s “Great Society” destroyed the black family. He replaced the black male with a government check, removing their sense of purpose and responsibly. Unwed black mothers turned to the state while the fathers turned to drugs, violence and gangs.
Johnson proudly proclaimed, “I’ll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.” So far, he was right.
Martin Luther King Jr. did not serve jail time so the number of unwed black mothers could rise from 30% before the “Great Society” to 70% after. He did not fight so blacks could make up 35% of aborted babies. Abortion kills more blacks than the next seven leading causes combined. Yet if you listen to Democrats, Republicans are racists and misogynists for wanting to defund Planned Parenthood.
King did not sacrifice his life so young black men could cause 93% of black homicides. Yet we are suppose to believe the problem is law enforcement targeting young black men. Unfortunately, the same civil rights leaders that stood with MLK 50 years ago ignore these statistics because they too have become drunk with power.
The Civil Rights Acts removed the shackles of discrimination from the wrists of blacks. However, Johnson replaced them with a yolk of dependency around their necks. As in Roots, Democrats have whipped the black voter into submission until he believes his name is Toby. They support the freedom of blacks to vote, but only if it is a vote for them. Any black who dares step off the government plantation will be beaten mercilessly. Just ask Justice Clarence Thomas, Dr. Ben Carson, Condoleezza Rice, Sen. Tim Scott, Allen West, Herman Cain, C.L. Bryant, or any other black Republican.
Fifty-four years ago, Martin Luther King Jr. told America:
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
I believe America still wants that dream. But for eight years, the administration, the Democrat Party and media have judged every possible event purely on skin tone with absolutely no regard to a person’s character. Facts have no relevance to the incident, just race. At the same time, the Democrats always accuse their opponents as being the racists. It has become their means of oppressing their opposition.
Instead, let us we remember and honor the Christ-centered messages of Martin Luther King Jr. May we continue to strive for unity and peace as a country and bring his dream to reality.
“And when this happens, and when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”
But that’s just my 2 cents.
