Democrats Caught Making Jokes about Justice Scalia’s Death

In a moment of disgusting clarity, Ohio and all of America was treated to the distasteful nature of Ohio’s liberals.

On Monday former Ohio Governor and current candidate for the Senate, Ted Strickland (D-OH) was speaking to some of his best friends and supporters in the AFL-CIO when he turned to the upcoming national election and the makeup of the Supreme Court.

“In about three and a half months, we’ll make a decision about who occupies the executive branch, what party controls the Senate, and growing out of those two decisions will be the future of the United States Supreme Court. And my friends, a lot of average citizens out there don’t understand the importance of that court.”

All of that makes sense. Strickland is applying the importance of the Supreme Court to the context of these liberal unions in Ohio and stressing how important getting people who agree with them on to the Supreme Court. However it’s his next comment that exposes Strickland’s heart and the cold immorality of his audience.

“I mean, the death of Scalia saved labor from a terrible decision. And I don’t wish anyone ill, but it happened at a good time because once that decision had been made, it would have been tough to reverse it.”

You know, it’s not even the joke that’s the worst part of this. It’s the response to the joke from the audience.

Sure, joking about someone’s death is almost never okay, but pay particular attention to the crowd’s reaction when Strickland says that he doesn’t bear anyone any ill will. They laugh even harder! Then as he mentions Scalia dying “at a good time” their chortles grow even more pronounced!

Don’t be naïve folks, this isn’t a one-time thing, this isn’t something that is something that is out of place behind the scenes in Democrat circles.

Strickland apologized for his distasteful comments after the audio received a wider audience, but does anyone seriously think he would have been sorry if his comments hadn’t made the news? I seriously doubt it.
