Webb Hubbell, Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton

Is Bill Clinton REALLY Chelsea’s Biological Father?

I love being a dad.  When my children were born, and as the grew, folks would say things like, “he has his mother’s eyes” or “she has her daddy’s smile.”  If you are a proud parent like my wife and me, nothing makes you happier than to hear comments like these.

But something always bothered me when I would see Chelsea Clinton.  I could see some of her mother’s features on her face, but not any of Bill’s.

Rumors have circulated for the last few years that Bill is not her biological father.  It started with an article in the National Enquirer which, as you know, has a reputation for publishing stories which seem hard to believe and sometimes appear to be quite fantastic.  But what you may not know and which might be of a surprise is how many of their headlines were true.

From Jesse Jackson’s “love child” to Rush Limbaugh being addicted to painkillers to Dog the Bounty Hunters racist phone call rant and the affair former Senator and Presidential candidate John Edwards had with Rielle Hunter while his wife lay dying.  Seriously, it’s quite an impressive list.

So who is the National Enquirer’s source?  Does the name Larry Nichols ring a bell?  In the 1990s, his was a name often mentioned on the evening news.  Nichols was a former Clinton aide and close friend, going back to Bill’s days as Governor of Arkansas.

During his interview with the National Enquirer, Nichols rehearses a time he and Bill were talking at the Governor’s Mansion.

And according to Nichols, “We were discussing this woman’s claims that Bill had knocked her up and what we should do about it,’ said Larry. ‘But he denied that he could have gotten her pregnant. He said he had measles as a kid and that rendered him sterile! ‘His exact words were, ‘I shoot blanks…Stunned by what I’d just heard, I asked him, ‘Then what about Chelsea?’” — NationalEnquirer.com

Bill’s answer, according to Nichols, was shocking, to say the least.   But it also makes sense when you consider the shape of Chelsea’s head, face, and her expressions.

According to Nichols, Bill answered that question this way, “Oh, Webb (Hubbell) sired her.” — ibid.

Who is Webster Hubble?  Hubble served as a U.S. Associate Attorney General, Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, Mayor of Little Rock, among other roles and was a colleague of Hillary’s at the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock. He was also, at one time, a close Clinton family friend.

Seriously!  Find a picture of Bill Clinton, Chelsea and Webb Hubbell and put Chelsea’s in the middle.  Who does she resemble?

And get this!  When Hillary found out she was pregnant, she didn’t tell Bill.

“According to well-respected author Edward Klein’s (2005) book, ‘The Truth about Hillary,’ Bill discovered his wife was pregnant by reading it in the ‘Arkansas Gazette.’” — ThePoliticalInsider.com

Blogger Robert Morrow writes, ““Chelsea is a dead ringer for Webb…But Hillary initially kept the pregnancy secret from Bill! If your wife becomes pregnant, the husband is usually the second person to know. But I find it very odd that Bill initially didn’t find out about his wife becoming pregnant – and had to learn that fact from a newspaper!” — NationalEnquirer.com

In his 1997 book titled “Friends in High Places,” Hubbell includes a somewhat startling paragraph about Chelsea.  He writes, “On summer evenings, I could sip a drink in my big living room and look out at children – including the Fosters’ and the Clintons,’ when Chelsea got big enough – bouncing happily on a trampoline…Such a scene made me feel successful.”

The National Enquirer attempted to get DNA samples from both Hubbell and Chelsea.  Getting the sample from Hubble was apparently easy, but Chelsea proved much more difficult.

According to the Enquirer, they were able to get Chelsea’s saliva on a Sharpie when she signed a copy of her mother’s book.

The Enquirer took the samples to a lab, but the results came back “inconclusive.”

There are two common possibilities why a DNA test can yield an inconclusive when testing for paternity.  First, there weren’t enough of the samples collected, and second, a conclusive answer can’t be reached without adding the biological mother’s DNA to the test.

If you think this is all a cruel joke, think again!  Rumors circulated since 1984 of an affair between Hillary and Webb Hubble, a story The New Yorker covered.

With all this said, there is no doubt that Bill has been a father to Chelsea.  That he deeply loves and cares for her.

My question is simply, “who is Chelsea’s true biological father?” If it is Webster Hubbell, then why not just tell the truth?

The question could be settled quite easily.  But apparently, no one wants to get to the truth!
