Besieged Liberal Elites Are on the Defense; Not Trump

Pat Buchanan writes of a besieged presidency, but thanks to Trump we have besieged Liberal elites.

What do besieged Liberal elites do? They get outraged and preach harder. But that doesn’t mean they’re winning.

Thus, I think Pat Buchanan sounds too pessimistic when he writes that there is “a besieged Trump presidency ahead.” Buchanan reminds us of how the cast of the musical, Hamilton, treated Mike Pence, the violent protests in some cities and many instances of the media acting like they’re the nation’s conscience. He concludes:

A time for truth. Despite the post-election, bring-us-together talk of unity, this country is hopelessly divided on cultural, moral and political issues, and increasingly along racial and ethnic lines.

Many Trump voters believe Hillary Clinton belongs in a minimum-security facility, while Hillary Clinton told her LGBT supporters half of Trump’s voters were racists, sexists, homophobes, xenophobes and bigots.

Donald Trump’s presidency will be a besieged presidency, and he would do well to enlist, politically speaking, a war cabinet and White House staff that relishes a fight and does not run.

The battle of 2016 is over.

The long war of the Trump presidency has only just begun.

There’s some truth to that but I question whether Trump is the one who is besieged. Instead of the White House under siege, we are seeing the desperation of besieged Liberal elites.

Trump is besieging them!

Consider this news video from yesterday when two reporters wonder what CNN’s Wolf Blitzer is doing in Trump Tower.

So, what happened?

According to the New York Post,

“It was like a f–ing firing squad,” one source said of the encounter.

“Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed,’ ” the source said.

“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down,” the source added.

A second source confirmed the fireworks.

“The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks,” the other source said.

“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars,” the source said.

Donald Trump obviously knows he is in a war. He is not expecting anything but opposition from the media.

And he is not acting like he is besieged.

The real revelation of this election is that besieged Liberal elites are surrounded by Conservatives, Populists, and other Americans who are tired of being ruled by the Soros-Democrat machine. They now know their numbers and will refuse to be bullied by entertainers and other TV personalities.
