Another Sign that the Left has Left its Jewish Supporters

It ‘s hard to take when a person turns on you. When you have supported and defended that person, just to find that they are against you. This hurts in personal relationships, but it can be even more painful in political ones.

For decades, the American Jewish Community has been traditionally left of center. These are the values that they espouse. They find themselves more on the side of “Social Justice,” and Civil Rights than big business. But now, the Jewish American is finding more and more that the Left has no love for them or Israel.

The Washington Post reports

The Black Lives Matter movement blindsided its Jewish supporters with the recent unveiling of its social and political policy agenda, a far-left manifesto that strays well beyond police brutality and accuses Israel of “genocide” and “apartheid.”

“The U.S. justifies and advances the global war on terror via its alliance with Israel and is complicit in the genocide taking place against the Palestinian people,” said the platform’s “Invest-Divest” policy brief.

Through foreign aid to Israel, which the platform describes as an “apartheid state,” Americans are made “complicit in the abuses committed by the Israeli government,” the brief says.

So, now that the left has no need for the Jews of America or the state of Israel, what will they do? They as a voter block are in a terrible spot. Most are not conservative. Most do not agree with the policy platform of the right or even the centrist. But where are they to go?

Can they continue to support, finance, and elect people that are morally and politically opposed to the State of Israel? Can they pay for the support of politicians and groups that compare Israel to South Africa? And worse, that is in support of the terror acts against their own people?

Unfortunately, they probably will.
